Paul Jacoulet Print Collection
mid-20th century
woodblock prints, ink on paper
A considerable collection of mid-century woodblock prints by Paul Jacoulet, a French artist who practiced traditional Japanese woodblock printing techniques. The collector possessed over ninety artworks, and required approximately thirty high-value pieces to be re-housed for long-term preservation, but to also allow for the works to be easily viewed and presented. To rehouse the prints, we:
constructed archival window mounts to suit each artwork
hinge mounted artworks with archival materials
obtained a specialty solander box to store the collection
